The Posers in high school who wanted to be cool but didnt really smoke would smoke cloves. Those things were gross and stunk.

Nope goth wasnt my thing. Although we did hang out at a bar called the Continental just to people watch. That place was pretty weird and freaky. It was Buffalos answer to CBGBs is probably the best I can explain it. It was around for a long time but it closed down at least 10 years ago if not more.

I don’t know, a gin and tonic, whisky and coke or nice glass of red feel like a nice addition to a nights gaming with friends. I’m surprised at the dislike of people having a drink, though getting drunk is of course a very different thing.

Never went to The Continental, but a bunch of my friends and fellow musicians played there back in the day.

It is odd. In my part of the world, having a drink or two while socializing is perfectly normal. With my group, you could make an argument that it’s a craft beer club that plays RPGs at our meetings.

Yeah, honestly we seem more like a Whiskey tasting club at times than a game club, but its rare that drinking causes any issues. Usually its more people dozing off who aren't having a drink.

I do a lot of face to face play at a church and we only have a few rules.
1. respect each other
2. no player versus player
3. romance stays at PG-13 with a fade to black on anything more explicit
4. character behavior in world has consequences

Mindless Faith, The Empire Hideous, Standard Issue Citizen (I think they were a band originally from Buffalo, too), State of Being. Probably others I'm forgetting. That all was a long time ago.

I dont recall any of those bands so either was well before my time or just never heard of them. Buffalo used to have a pretty big music scene. Think it still might but I dont go out much or follow any bands like I used to. Besides the obvious, Rick James and the Goo Goo Dolls, Cannibal Corpse, Green Jell-O, Talas (Billy Sheean) and Ani Difranco are from Buffalo.
