Level Up (A5E) What would you call a 'Warlord' class? (+)

Ignore whether you think there should be a warlord class. That's a different topic. Given the existence of such a class, what would you call it?

If you HAVE to have War in there, then Warleader would be okay. But the class, as defined in the playtest documents, encompasses many different kinds of leaders, like a mastermind who commands the underworld. Leader is best; Commander or Captain might be all right.

I’d be fine with tactician or marshall, but I think warlord is best. There are those who don’t think it fits, but at this point it’s the name that people associate with the concept. Whether folks like the concept or hate it, warlord is the name they know it by.

Edit: I also don't understand the hate against the class, but I skipped 4e completely, if anyone can point me to why it's so divisive, I would enjoy the read!

So, given that A) I never played 4E so I was never at a table where the 4E version was played and B) there are some negative real-world connotations to the word "warlord," I think I'd avoid it. As I understand the concept--martial class that passes actions to others and/or improves the efficacy of others' actions in combat--I think I'd go with something on the lines of "commander" or its near-synonyms (general, captain, marshall, etc.) I might avoid "marshall," since (at least in the US) that's typically a law enforcement officer.

Hmm. Warden is interesting. I voted Warlord, but warden as "a protector of places or things" would work, and it doesn't feel like the name assumes lots of experience already. Like General.
