More details of Strixhaven Curriculum of Chaos have emerged on D&D Beyond. Owlin are in, and there is a built-in 1-10 campaign composed of four separate adventures, each spanning a single school year, and taking the PCs from first-year students through to graduation.

Strixhaven™: A Curriculum of Chaos introduces the fantastical setting of Strixhaven University, drawn from the multiverse of MAGIC: THE GATHERING, and provides rules for creating characters who are students in one of its five colleges. Characters can explore the setting over the course of four adventures, which can be played together or on their own. Each adventure describes an academic year filled with scholarly pursuits, campus shenanigans, exciting friendships, hidden dangers, and perhaps even romance. This book includes a poster map that shows Strixhaven’s campuses on one side and location maps on the other.

I don't really want to get in a big argument about whether Strixhaven is an obvious Harry Potter motif, because I'll admit there are clearly some differences.

All I'll say is that the "magic school" genre really was kicked off by Harry Potter, and it's arguably in the top five fantasy properties of our time. Although Strixhaven does do some things to differentiate it from HP, it also is clearly meant to be an outlet for folks who want to roleplay the Harry Potter experience while sticking within the D&D multiverse and rulesets.

If by some you mean a ton yeah. The only thing the two schools (or really one magical school Hogwart vs an interconnected cooperative set of 5 post secondary schools) have in common is that they use magic and have owl motiff.

A wild keg party at Strixhaven sounds like a great adventure location and a fun riff on the classic D&D tavern brawl.

An adventure in three parts. First there's the fetch quest portion as you have to secure a keg and deliver invites and handle last minute snags with your venue. The middle part is the party itself, with social encounters and skill challenges and the like, climaxing in a battle as a drunken summoning party trick goes wrong. Then, depending on the resolution of the fight and the choices of the party, they have to either devise a plan to conceal how things went wrong so they don't get in trouble or have a thrilling chase as they flee the scene ahead of the irate authorities.

You just have to do it all through a lens of D&D-isms. When someone spikes the punch it's with an unstable mutagenic elixir. A social faux pass over someone who used Disguise Self to fake their party attire. Someone stole the sports team mascot and it got loose, and it's also a cockatrice.

I think they use race if your born that way, Lineage is if something made you that way, like it could still be born that way, but its just as likely to become the lineage later in life and to retain somekind of trait from your preveous race.
