D&D General D&D across generations

This popped up in my partner's facebook feed and I thought I would share (I may have posted it before). This is me, my children and their friends in our 4e game (the edition they learned D&D). They are about 10th level at the point this was taken. The battle map is a larger scale section of a much larger map (you cans see it on the bottom right). I think I printed the inside to the temple in color IIRC.

I have two older brothers. We all have kids. Their kids are older than mine. We all play D&D. All the brothers and all the kids. Some started with 4E, most started with 5E.

That is quite the thing, all my 1e/2e battle maps were drawn on A4 paper.

I don't know what's more impressive, that giant map or being able to take a picture while (from the looks of it) having your back glued to your ceiling.

Well I am an architect so I have access to a large format printer. Though I probably abused that privilege a bit with this one as there were a lot more full size maps.

My partner is a drider!

Actually she is standing on the 2nd floor catwalk that overlooks our great room.

EDIT: I just realized this photo is old enough that she may have been standing on the pull-down stair that lead to our roof (no longer there as we added a 3rd story) as it does seem rather higher up than when I stand on the catwalk.

That's awesome! I used to always DM on the floor so I could spread out everything around me. Then one year they just started making floors less comfortable (nothing to do with getting older, no, not at all)...
