In both cases, an in-house investigation would be the most productive. Are they not scanning all boxes before they're put on the trucks to distributors? Are they monitoring the rest of their inventory properly? Especially since they've had these issues before, that seems like the area they need to be focusing on.

But as has been said, getting stuff before street date is extremely common. I suspect a large portion of this community has gotten stuff early. We've had people post about getting D&D books from stores before the street date and no one came out of the woodwork to scold them for doing so.

It is bizarre that suddenly so many people seem to have a problem with this, when I suspect we can see many of the same people in those old threads, asking about whether a given subclass was updated since the UA or what levels one of the adventures in the book is for.
Yeah, I was sold the 5e DMG quite a bit before the street date. I made a post about it here and I got plenty of questions; No one thought I was doing anything wrong. When WotC got in (indirect) contact with me through the store they asked politely to stop answering questions. Quite different from what is going on here...

none, does not mean he had a right to them. If you somehow end up with counterfeit money you can also not just keep it.

You breaking the law is not the only way you can end up in possession of something you have no legal right to, it could be a simple as the bank transferring money to the wrong account, or the mailman delivering to the wrong address
Are you telling me that the USPS will send armed men to intimidate me if I have the wrong mail delivered to my address?

Threaten people with lawful, legal action*, not breaking their legs.
Why do you need to hire people to threaten others? Why not just send them a cease & desist and then a stern letter in the mail before moving to legal action?

I know that you really like the idea of armed men aggressively pushing into people's homes to intimidate women and children, but I really just don't think its a logical step for a toy company to take! Agree to disagree I guess.

Hey guys, question:

How many times are you allowed to screw up at work before you let your job send armed men to politely invade your home and terrorize you and your family? Personally, my job has yet to do it, but since its now an acceptable thing to do here in the good ol' US, we should all expect it at some point.
According to our company handbook, I'm required to rough myself up s a cost-cutting measure.
