The ones coming to mind are BTRC's CORPS (the generic red hexagons cover) or it's earlier flavor. Very tactical, but very fast, universal mechanic, uses only 1d10 per player most of the time.

D6 Adventure is also an option. It's essentially the older WEG Star Wars d6 system, but has an option for HP, and is set for 20th C settings. Char gen is super easy; everything's rated in a number of d6's... and one die can be broken into 3×+1 or 1×(+1 & +2)... allocate 18 dice to the 6 atts, and 7 dice to skills (max 2d per skill), and get the GM to agree to the conceptually appropriate gear.

I wouldn't call either of those rules light so I'm wondering how the OP is defining that
Same.

And almost anything would be considered lighter in the rules department than Alternity which was also mentioned. Gosh I loved it, but boy was it heavyyyy

I did not purchase the M-AGE books, but all my other AGE system books hold pretty well even a after 6-7 years of use.

Maybe they changed their binding process in the meantime, though.
That could be. You are correct I never had a problem with their books before. They arent falling apart but they just seem like they might not last long with moderate use, though I may be wrong. I have no clue about binding processes so who knows, but the pages are not glued to the spine, theres a gap. Should be able to see it in this picture

Yup, that look flimsy alright.

I'd suggest to keep a pic of the book undamaged, in case it starts to lose pages soon. If that does happen, I'm sure GR would happy to send you another one, they tend to be quite customer friendly.

Good idea, I will do that. I've never had any issues with books falling apart unless they were used extensively. I'm assuming that if they fall apart it'll be sooner than later though

That usually is a fairly stable binding; you can see the pages are gathered into folios; the folios are either stapled or stitched together. The gap is intentional; it's so the binding can lay flat. The folios are clearly glued, and may be stitched to, that inner-spine. The inner-spine is then usually glued on the edges to the covers. (Gluing the multiple layers of a folio together is almost never done; it's messy as hell.)

My group decided on Green Ronin Modern AGE. Rules light to me is,,,("I don't condone it, everyone should make their own decision"), can I have a few beers, smoke a bit of pot and run/play a game is rules lite. I like a story first. So wrote this 2004 I think. Im sure the context. syntax. grammar sucks but this is my post-apocalyptic campaign in the WNY area

This really is terribly written I know

Anyone know of a rules light modern RPG? I KS'd the Everyday Heroes but since then our group is looking to get away from a d20/5E system. Any suggestions?
Lots. I'm going to suggest Blades in the Dark as rules light, fast flowing, high improvisation, and easy to run. But because there are so many it would help a lot if you were to say what you are looking for in a game.

(And Savage Worlds is not rules light unless you're used to either GURPS or D&D 3.X/Pathfinder)
