Kids these days. No appreciation for the OG Beholder.
Best part about Beholders is that all their artwork is canonical forever. Making them genetically unstable so their looks vary enormously over even a couple of generations was genius, and making them murderously intolerant of other Beholders that look "wrong" explains why they haven't conquered the multiverse yet. They're too busy purging each other.
