D&D General So... anybody still playing D&D 3e (not 3.5)?

My favorite D&D setting of all-time (The Scarred Lands) was published for D&D 3e and, while some books were updated for 3.5 and a whole THREE books published for 5e (a sourcebook, a bestiary, and a campaign), most of them remain 3e only. So, this probably sounds slightly mad, but I've decided to revisit that setting (and system) in the coming year. And it got me wondering. Does anybody else still play D&D 3e (or have you in the recent past)?

I was playing 3.5e until about 2020, when I finally switched over to 5e. I probably haven't done 3.0e since around 2005.

I would love a chance to do a 3.xe game with a VTT. I think the automation would go a long way to making it easier to handle, especially at higher levels. But I don't think either of my current groups would go for it.

Is there a VTT that handles 3.5e?

My main game is over email - Excel for maps and Word for the action and dialogue.

The one I co-DM/mostly handed off to my niece is on Zoom, again using Excel for maps, Word for character sheets, and rolling live dice.

I play in a 5e game where we use D&D Beyond for character sheets, Discord for audio and chat, and I’d have to check my PC for the VTT.

I've never actually played straight 3.0e.

Before I moved to NZ, I was playing in a friend's campaign that was a hybrid of 2e and 3.0e. I didn't expect to play D&D again after the move, but my younger in-laws convinced me to join them a few years later, and by then 3.5e was the new hotness.

Not in the past year, but I occasionally play 3e.

Most of the time if we are playing a system like that we'd play PF1e, but occasionally the urge hits and we play the original 3e.

I haven't played much of 3e since 5e, only some Rokugan adventures and it's been many years ago, but I largely prefer 3.0 over 3.5. I never really converted to 3.5, back then I DMed in 3.5 heavily (and exclusively) for a year using the SRD, then decided to go back to 3.0 which, in my opinion was more "organically designed" than 3.5 and worked better for my tastes. The main Rokugan books were published in 3.0 years, and were not updated for 3.5, and neither was the D&D Oriental Adventures book (which serves as a foundation for the Rokugan books themselves), so it could be an example of another fantasy setting which technically requires to be played using 3.0 (although, practically it's not THAT important, especially since it has its own character material for most classes).
