Spoilers Rings of Power is back!

The article series linked above provides some very specific reasons why at least season 1 of the show had some serious logic issues, over and beyond setting fidelity (where it also had some serious issues).

I can get past setting fidelity if it'd really good. Eg good parts of GoT or Fallout.

And some things have to be tweaked to adapt to the big screen. Eg dialog or cutting things.

Using other examples House of the Dragon S1 was great. It enhanced the book. S2 deviated from the book and was a bit meh to boot.

About the actual show... WTF is up galadriel? Why not team up with adar? I really don't get her actions at all. She knows a way into the city, and didn't go in with adar? She doesn't tell elrond sauron is the real enemy. I don't understand what her plan is at all.

Hopefully we actually talk about the site in this thread occasionally. Maybe I need to find a new place to go.

We already saw the previous episode that she'd decided (rightly or wrongly) that Adar was as much a part of Sauron's plans as anybody, serving merely as an unwitting orc delivery system, so she'd have no reason to team up with him. And he'd also shown that he considered her no more than a convenient ring delivery system, so he wouldn't team up with her.

She tries to speak to Elrond and Adar threatens to cut out her tongue if she utters another word. After that, she has no easy way to reach him. Also, Elrond already knows there's a strong chance Sauron has infiltrated Eregion again, he's just dealing with the problem in front of him first.

One thing I thought might have happened that didn't was Elrond slipping Galadriel the Ring mouth-to-mouth during that kiss, as it otherwise felt a bit clumsy even as a cover for passing her the lockpick-brooch.

You are thinking “what would I do?” not “what would the character do?” Galadriel spent the whole of season 1 learning that pursuing a personal vendetta against Sauron only plays into his hands. Galadriel and Elrond’s priority is saving Eregion. Unlike us they do not know Eregion cannot be saved.

If this was a game of D&D, then form a party with Adar and sneak into the palace to assassinate Sauron is probably what would happen (combined with a rescue mission if the players remember that Celebrimbor made the most powerful magic items in the world), but this isn’t D&D, it has different themes and a different ethos.

Last episode she flip flopped so many times I have no idea what she truly believes.

I'm relatively sure that if she told elrond to team up with adar, adar would have allowed her to talk.

I asked the question, because I can't figure out her true belief. If she doesn't feel sauron is the true enemy, this show is really about how she was wrong, over and over and over, and helped sauron as much as anyone. If she does think he's the true enemy, I don't understand her decision making at all. Also, how's she going to mess up protecting the nine?

Frankly, I don't know if I want to like a show about her messing up over and over. But it's the only decent fantasy show on right now...

She does consider Sauron the greater threat, and she was basically ready to team up with Adar the previous episode, but then he basically turned around on her and was like "I was only humouring you to get my hands on the ring." At which point she ceased to see him as any part of the solution.
