Effects of tariffs on game sales (e.g. US/Canada shipments) (No Politics!)

They publish thousands of books and journals per month. They could handle more capacity, in general, and they make their own paper sourced from Wyoming and Montana.
Huh. I guess we'll have to wait and see, then. I'll have to assume that those who told me otherwise are either uninformed, or were making it sound like it was something that was "impossible" when it's something that is "difficult" (at least for what they want to do).

In the very least, I hope that you're right.

I think the bigger question might be whether demand for many RPGs just ups and dies here in Canada. D&D, Pathfinder, and many others I imagine are all luxury products of the USA. And a lot of us are going to be reducing our consumption of such regardless of the affordability issue.

Last week I shored up my strategic reserves of Canadian maple syrup in anticipation of having to get through the rest of the year. I'm sad to say that things are going to get much worse before they get better as I expect tariffs to be slapped on the EU. At least here in the United States, we're going to be paying more for games and related products very, very soon. Buckle up, it's going to be rough for the next few years.

Well, that zero sense. More fentanyl is brought into Canada from the US then from Canada to the US. Border security spending is already increase as requested.
I'm just passing on what I have heard. Keep in mind that the only sense it has to make is in terms of voter approval, and those numbers are definitely positive, at least for now.
Looks like if that was a thought it is backfiring as the Conservatives have started to lose support and the Liberals are regaining support. The Conservative leader had not been doing a good job being vocal in defence of Canada and he is being seen as MIA by some.
Like I said, I know zip about Canadian politics.

Why? PDFs are unaffected, and while I'm no fan of D&D, Pathfinder, or Canadians, its hard to see why gamers would abandon the hobby because of a tariff. You guys have faced tariffs before.

Abandoning the hobby, no. But make due with they already have? I think that is not at all unlikely.

Why? it looks like the most widely used RPGs are owned by US companies.

Probably not for long as you take increased prices for no gain.

These Tariffs are going to hurt game store owners the most in relation to the Hobby. With luck the President will see sense when things don't work and will remove the tariffs, and we can all move past this.

And those US Companies use Canadian and Mexican materials in their books.
