D&D 5E (2024) Predict WotC's 2026 D&D releases

Well, I figure if nothing happens between now and December 12th, don't count on anything until after the New Year, probably around middle of January.
Are they trying for shadow dropping something early in 2026 as they announce the slate maybe? That seems like it would be hard to do with print products.

But it feels really weird that there are no announced D&D products for next year.

I don't recall what the lead time is for stores to be able to put their orders in, but I seem to recall it's about three months.

Yeah, skipping Q1 feels like something they wouldn't do on purpose. Maybe something in development needs more time in the oven or maybe they needed to change printers so that they don't end up having to eat more books with warped covers.

better than skipping Q3!

Q1 is the best to miss -- Ideally they'd lean into onboarding videos and 'what's next?' marketing after the normies buy nerds holiday gifts.

What do they have releasing now for the holiday? Nothing?

I do not understand this company.
Because of the Eberron delay they have Eberron, the double-book Forgotten Realms books, Heroes of the Borderlands, and Welcome to the Hellfire Club just in the RPG part of the brand. All came out in Q4, the holiday quarter. It's accidentally perfect.

They also have a new video game Battlemarked, a new comic, new books, new game accessories supporting 5e and more tchotchkes and clothing than you can imagine.

My Predictions:

1. Dark Sun for 5e.
2. A sourcebook on how to convert entire settings to the Forgotten Realms.
3. A 2024/5.5 update for Xanathar's and Tasha's. I can totally see WotC charging twice for the same product.
4. An adventure or regional setting sourcebook leeching off of the success of Baldur's Gate 3, such as covering the Shadow-Cursed Lands or various NPC stat blocks.
5. A JRPG/anime-flavored sourcebook to bring in younger otaku.
