Arcana Unleashed

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Arcana Unleashed, New Magic-Themed Sourcebook at $49.99 Price Point

Am I wrong or do I feel every time they post a picture of Alustriel Silverhand they make her skin darker?

Which is weird because she has the same mother and father as her sisters, who are all significantly paler than her

The magic lady can probably make herself have whatever skin tone she desires.
She got Netflixed!

Given the shift away from tattoos as carrying magic and towards tattoos emerging as a result of a magical capability, do you all think this means the age of the Spellwrought Tattoo is over? I am actually more interested in tattoos like the Coiling Grasp Tattoo but wondering if tattoos are likely to still be craftable in the future...

The material component doesn't have a "which the spell consumes" clause. So I read that as an expensive focus, like Chromatic Orb or the Summon spells, and not a consumed cost of the spell, like Raise Dead.

I do note that Battle Familiar is listed as a Warlock spell too. I wonder how it will interact with the Chain Pact invocations? Hard to say without the full spell entry.
This will surely pair nicely with chain-pact warlock, and I think a build based around a juiced-up familiar sounds very flavorful.

Has there been a shift in the number of people who play high level campaigns these days? i.e. Are there more people playing past level ten than there were last time WotC polled their players?

. Arcana Unleashed will offer new high-magic character creation options
Super interesting. I wonder if that will be in the form of chargen rules that account for the gm providing magic items that the PC's need or just more powerful characters like the old dmg table that said something like "same" for level 1 and extra gold to buy more powerful magic items at higher levels with higher magic settings

It’s magic items that increase in power as the character levels up.
