Charlaquin
Goblin Queen (She/Her/Hers)
That would make senseSome of the same sources reported Ed Greenwood and Tracy Hickman were involved in those talks as well ... Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance guides to follow?

I own two Realms books that aren't even six months oldSome of the same sources reported Ed Greenwood and Tracy Hickman were involved in those talks as well ... Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance guides to follow?
They were talking about it in context of how WotC will be announcing products moving forwards. Is the book an actual WotC-published setting book, or is it going to be a DMs Guild publication for Luke (like the Bandit Kingdoms and upcoming Dalelands products were/are for Ed?)
We may even get that yet.
I think WotC busting out a checkbook and making all Gygax estate issues go away, and hiring Luke Gygax to write a definitive Castle Greyhawk product would be the blowout dream product.
Unrealistic? Yeah, but it would be cool!I remember a while back some of the OSR fans were speculating about Luke being in talks with WotC. They convinced themselves it was going to be a new, OSR style edition which was obviously unrealistic, but this does explain what was actually going on there.
I'm not sure there is any value in splintering D&D again into a Basic/OSR and Advanced/Modern would be a wise move, but I do think something like a HeroQuest type Dungeon-Crawl game would be a sweet option.I'd love it if WotC did their own official "OSR" game based on classic D&D. Yeah, yeah, I know there are plenty of those on the market currently, but having an official "old school" D&D game would be neat!
Shrug. You don't like the idea, I do!I'm not sure there is any value in splintering D&D again into a Basic/OSR and Advanced/Modern would be a wise move, but I do think something like a HeroQuest type Dungeon-Crawl game would be a sweet option.
Isn’t the the Greenwood thing his Dalelands supplements that we already know about, and the talks focused on not contradicting the WotC FR books? Some of the same sources reported Ed Greenwood and Tracy Hickman were involved in those talks as well ... This sounded different, it sounded like what Gygax is working on is a part of WotC publishing schedule.Isn’t the the Greenwood thing his Dalelands supplements that we already know about, and the talks focused on not contradicting the WotC FR books?
Just because WotC has decided to start talking to veteran creatives doesn’t mean they are going to want to make the same kind of thing. They will have their own ideas about what they would like to do.
I doubt it, those are for DMsGuild so Ed can do those without WotC involvement. They should keep him busy for this year though, so if there is something else planned with WotC I do not expect it in 2026Isn’t the the Greenwood thing his Dalelands supplements that we already know about, and the talks focused on not contradicting the WotC FR books?
