Any Ideas for a Quarterstaff Fighting PC

Mista Collins

First Post
I am trying to put together a character who solely fights with a quarterstaff. I figured it would be pretty neat. I am wondering if there are any PrC's available for something like this?

Are there any other feats besides the core feats that would help out with this? I know feats like whirlwind, improved trip, improved disarm, and spring attack would work well with the idea of a stick fighter.

Any suggestions?

Hmm. Expertise, Weapon Focus, Weapon Specialization.

Also, ask the DM if he/she will allow a variation on the Deflect Arrows (I think it's called for unarmed strike) to be for your staff - thus, using the staff to knock incoming projectiles to the side.

Also, a custom feat to allow some sort of pole-vault (a +10 (?) to jump and tumble checks if you have only your quarterstaff in your hands and nothing else)

hmm.. will think some more on it and post again if I think of anything potentially helpful ...

look to other two weapon or weapon mastery Prc's like the tempest its abilities don't work for double weapons but maybe modified staff only verions of supreme ambidexterity and its other two weapon abilities might work, also look at master of chains superior weapon focus and specialization could also help, finally maybe a dodge bonus to ac and increasing bonuses to trip disarm and bull rush ( bull rush because i like pushing people around with big sticks )

You could take one of the weapon-specific PrCs out of Sword & Fist and remodel it using the quarterstaff. I am thinking Lasher or Duelist, or even Master Samurai, as they all relate to being armed with a specific weapon.

yeah, I was thinking on modifying a current PrC because I have not been able to actually find one based on this. The Tempest and Master of Chains were my first ideas.

I appreciate all the help. I will have to ask my DM what he will allow and what he won't.

Look Both Ways,
