Goal Accomplished...I finally bench pressed 405 lbs...

Hmm....*thinks*....the last time I benched anything was about two years ago. I think it was about....60something.

*feels sudden urge to start lifting*

And I would, but I do enough lifting at work, which tires me out, so when I get time to LIFT lift, my arms feel like lead. But then again, there's a good set of weights in the basement from when my dad used to lift (mostly made from extra steel from when he helped manage a dumpster/trailer fabrication plant a few years back), and I've been getting time less work at college, so I have more free time...perhaps I may be able to. Oh wait, I forgot the my basement ceiling is 4 feet off the ground and the steps are barely stong enough to stay standing, let alone support the weight of iron disks being trudged up and down......there goes that hope.

BUT then again... there are other, more conventional exercises. like pushups. I could always load up a backpack with heavy stuff and start pushing.....not exactly benchpressing, but the movements are similar enough.

[/semi-councious thought rant]

I can just see the progress curve your workouts must have had... improving by leaps and bounds to begin with and near the end every little bit is difficult, eh?

What's next though? Once you reach a goal you either allow yourself to atrophy or you keep getting stronger; maintaining a strength level is incredibly difficult... probably more so than getting stronger.

At any rate, congrats! And if I need legs broken, I know who to contact! :)

Celtavain's avatar combined with his announcement of benching 405 lbs just gave me a weird mental image of Samwise Gamgee's head on Conan the Barbarian's body. :D

Wow. 405 lbs is no small feat. I am a literal monster and can bench no where near that even at my best I never cracked 350. Color me jealous.

Congrats.
