Would you game through a nuclear war?

One again, a dicey looking thread fails to dissolve into politics/sex/cussing/naughtiness.

You're kidding right?
It would probably take at least a nuclear war to get my group back together.
My friend Dave has moved to DC, so he can't play.
His younger brother Daniel is busy practicing for a school play and about to graduate from high school along with the other two younger players.
And finally my friend Eric is one of those people who thinks he never has enough freetime to do anything but work and sleep; so unless he knows for a fact that he has the day free and isn't working the next, he won't play. Not only that, I think he would rather exclude the younger players from the game (Two players and a DM? Only if I had to... :p).

That basically leaves no one, maybe the two younger guys that aren't in the play, or on an exceptionally good day Eric would pull the stick out of his butt and we could get the three of them.

Blah. All that work on my campaign....

Screw the game, wife comes first!

You say that because you are not yet married.

I wouldn't take time away from my two children..maybe my wife..but not my kids.

This one guy has the experience for being married. See the difference? I guess he hasn't been married for a long time though.

If there was a nuclear war somewhere, at least that would distract my wife enough, so I can go to play without provoking another heated argument!! ... Well, I am kidding of course, because I am divorced. There wouldn't be any argument for me going to play with my friends during a nuclear war.

Hm... reading the title, I figured a situation like "you're stuck in a bunker for 20 years..." and I thought "hell yes, there's not much more to do".

But if a nuclear war happens far away? Well, I would still game, yes. There's nothing I can do to stop the war. But I would also take precautions in case the war spills out closer to me. I have time to do both things.

At first, I did read your post too fast, so I believed to have read "There's nothing I can do to stop gaming". Kind of: What if a nuclear war happens? Well, I would still smoke, yes. There's nothing I can do to stop smoking. :p

Think like the ant, not like the grasshopper.

Preparing to survive a nuclear war the day nuclear war breaks out is thinking like an ant, huh? Do the grasshoppers not start shopping until CNN goes off the air?
