Can someone recommend a good miniatures conversion/customizing site?

I've been googling like mad over the past couple of days to no avail... I'm seraching for someone or some business that does custom miniature work. Not that they necessarily make a mini from scratch, but that you can describe what you're looking for, and they can chop off parts of one mini, stick them on another, etc. Anyone who does this? I'm willing to pay for good work. What I'm look for is a robed/coweled dual-bladed-lightsaber-staff wielding Jedi, but nothing like that has been done yet, not even the limited edition Darth Maul that WoTC released in 2001 (head is open and exposed, lower body isn't really robed).

The term you are looking for is "conversion". You probably shouldn't have too much trouble finding an experienced painter to do this for you. Ask your LGS proprietors if they can recommend someone, or post in the miniatures forum here. You will need to provide the base mini to be converted to that person however ( and perhaps the bits you want added). Depending on the conversion and if you want it painted or not, you might need to pay anywhere from $10 upto quite a bit for the work.

As an example of a mini you could use, check out the picture I have attached here. The last one on the right might be able to be adapted for your character. The hood shows no face at all.

You also might want to consider one of these Reaper figures ( look on same site as linked above ) 2368, 2660, 14040

Maybe someone else has some ideas for a base mini for you?

Conversion... thanks. That's a nice base model there, the Falconeer, assuming someone who does conversions can remove the falcon and lower the arm and, of course, stick a double-bladed lightsaber staff in there. It even has a couple of old-time pistols it looks like, that could be converted to blasters. That's really fantastic, thanks.

I also like this one from the same site. Inquisitor of Malvernis

Has anyone ever seen a miniature converted into a Jedi before? All I've seen is a Jedi on a horse on one UK website, and that was a little odd.
