What Is Masters and Minions?
A generation grew up with the monsters of the original roleplaying game. Now the monsters have grown up too. Each Horde Book in Behemoth3’s Masters and Minions series brings new life to a classic creature. If you’ve ever loved any edition of the world’s most popular RPG, this is the series for you.

Horde Book 1: A Swarm of Stirges
I am the stirge. For thirty years, you have fought me. I’ve lurked in caverns and wandered through swamps, waiting for the chance to sink my proboscis into your flesh and drink your blood. Remember me? I’m not just a random encounter—I’m one of the monsters that made roleplaying great. Think you know all about me? Think again.
* Bring your world to life with four new creatures that create a complex and plausible ecology for the stirge, and a comprehensive challenge for those who encounter the Horde
* Roll your own legends with two options for player characters: rule the skies with the Wing Jockey prestige class, or get small with the six-inch race of ashmalkins
* Expand the game you’re already playing with adventure hooks, sample lairs, and a fully-rounded NPC displaying the potential of each of the five monsters in the Horde
BEH3501 * 54 pages, B&W interior, softcover * $12

Horde Book 2: Maze of the Minotaur
Who is the master of the maze? Twenty five centuries ago, he first appeared on Greek vases, a bull-headed man who ruled his labyrinth with an enormous double-headed axe. If you think you’ve already met this primal figure of savagery and terror, it’s time to rediscover what the first civilizations knew: Believe in monsters, and fear the maze of the minotaur.
* Play a minotaur character from his first-level origins all the way to his destiny as a 17th level bull lord
* Discover the feminine powers behind the throne: deadly minotrice huntresses and tattooed albino maze mages
* Turn adventurers into mincemeat with four new creatures designed to enhance the minotaur’s strengths and compensate for his weaknesses
* Make the legend real with five monstrous characters, each with their own histories and adventure hooks, plus complete stats for NPCs of each race from level 1 through 20
BEH3502 * 60 pages, B&W interior, softcover * $12

We're working on releasing the PDFs a little in advance of GenCon; I'm hoping to offer a special promotion for people who buy them in advance of the print release. I don't want to say more about it in case it doesn't work out; hyperlinking all the rules references in the PDF to the SwoRD (www.swordproject.com) is, like everything else, more work than we expected so I can't guarantee it'll be available before the 19th.

Glad to hear from a stirge fan, BTW! I've always loved 'em ever since I first saw the illustration of the stirge flock on p. 177 of the AD&D DMG. My fellow Behemoths think I'm crazy, but they're glad at least one of us is excited about doing all the weird little monsters!
