Round 28
Charlyn and Nurlan act almost simutaneously, the cleric smashing down his wounded foe, and Nurlan impaling his. Both sahaugin drop dead.
Jezibel's smile widens at Irene's comment. "Yes. We'll get out of here, using that." She nods deeper into the cave. (This is a bluff check, vs. Irene's sense motive.) Involuntarily, Irene glances into the darkness of the cave. Only briefly, but long enough. Turning back, she sees Jezibel sprinting out of the cave, and the knotted rope hitting the sandy floor. Jezibel dashes out of the cave, past Ashnar (who as of his last action still held his crossbow so doesn't get an AoO. Nor does Rinaldo, who, as of his last action, is facing the other direction. Correct me if I'm wrong), around and behind the round hut. Charlyn sees her run by as he drops his foe. Irene can take an action this round.
Ashnar may restate his 28th round action if he'd like, as there are no more sahaugin in melee range. Rinaldo (who took 3 pts dmg last round) returns to the cave, sheaths his rapier and takes up his crossbow (unless he would also like to change his action)
Tenebrynn runs around the square cabin and sees Somac prone in the sane, heavily wounded, a bloody-mouthed sahaugin rising over him. He is not able to attack yet. Tor steps towards the bard and makes another attack with his chain, aiming at the next sahaugin's head (s13). It is a daring attack, and in his weakened condition almost misses. Only the memory of Nurlan's inspiring song allows him the strength to connect, spraying blood, teeth and an eyeball onto the ever-blackening sand. (9 pts dmg)
Somac's killer sees the blood splattered elf charging at it through the sand. Again it hurls itself forward, attempting to grapple. Tenebryn, stumbling slightly in the sand, is unable to bring his weapon around in time, and the green clawed hand grabs his left forearm. Reacting quickly, the elf twists free before any damage can be done.
Elsewhere, Tor's one-eyed opponent tries the same tactic, hurling itself at the beleaguered barbarian. Tor is too quick, though and slaps it out of the air with his chain, sending it lifeless to the surf. Nurlan's last opponent, seeing its comrade cut down, also hurls itself into close combat. The sturdy bard's weapon is long, but he can't bring it into play before the scaley monster is on him. Amazingly, Tor also is able to swing his weapon backwards to strike at the leaping fishman, but he too, can't connect. Nurlan tries to wrench free of the the cold wet grasp, but finds himself wrestled to the sand, its sharp talons ripping into his flesh (5 pts dmg - prone and grappling.)
Tor's opponents down, and the merchant having taken shelter in the cave, the fatigued warrior finds himself in the bead of two half-submerged sahaugin archers. One of the bolts shatters into his shoulder. Through the burst of pain (8 pts), he notices the other two reloading.
