“Monsters are everywhere, a plague to both peasant and king alike. They battle foes in the forlorn depths of dungeons, the untamed wilderness beyond our fragile bubble of civilization, and, most insidiously, within the very cities that offer us sanctuary.

“Surcease from this dire threat often comes in the form of doughty adventurers, brave souls who, for want of renown or simply treasure, confront monstrous beasts for the benefit of civilization.

“Unfortunately, adventurers are often difficult to find, ill prepared, untimely, or just as likely to end up on a monster’s menu as an unskilled commoner. In addition, adventurers come in all flavors of moral direction, and those beseeching aid from a passing band of heroes may end up with a threat more dangerous than the monster itself.

“So what are those beleaguered by beasts to do? Where can one find a professional? Where are those well versed in the ecology of monsters? Those who are well studied in the obscure lore of bestial weaknesses, with the resources and skills to find and slay even the most dangerous of creatures?

“The answer is, of course, at the local Monster Hunters’ guild house.”

I am guessing this is not the Monster Hunters in Dragon ecology articles by J. Richards.

Either way it looks interesting.

Wow. You really captured the imagery I was going for with the beast hunters, right down to the arms and armor. Great job! I can't wait to see the stuff on the inside.

hey thanks Blackdirge,

I just read the book and it was really really cool. I love the whole idea of the monsters Guild House. Something about a group of specialized killers with their own sweet clubhouse always gets me going. I really wanted to provide a cutaway illustration of the guild house, i thought it would be fun to show all the labs, pens, etc etd. If you guys ever put out some more material for this book, i really want to do that cutaway illustration!!! Maybe we could work something out?
Anyway, people go buy this book its super cool, a fun read, and will supply your noggin with all manner of cool visuals!

This is the first EN Publishing book that has caught my eye; I'm looking forward to it.

I think it'd mesh well with a homebrew I'd like to write/run. The theme would be:

There is no way any natural explanation could exist to explain how and why all these monsters continue to infiltrate our lands and attack our towns! We may not be able to ken the methods of this madness, but we will use the advantages the gods gave us! We'll craft the weapons, shape the magic, and by the pantheon, outwit them while we try and find a solution!

The Guild would serve as the repository for all monster knowledge and lore and act as a global agency to outfit and deliver adventurers as needed.

Hopefully this will be what I'd need!

Hey Adamantine Angel,

Your homebrew sounds cool, and since i just read the book, it sounds like precisely what you need. Actually your homebrew sounds alot like that old movie Red Dawn, which is pretty much one of the best "train then get back at the bad guys" movies of all time. Just like the A-team. Now the A-Team would make a super sweet RPG!!! Somebody make that now!!!!
