Adventure:-- LPNN (Manzanita Judging)

End of Round Two

CONTINUED:

I11: Juliana might be nauseated by all the freakin’ bat.s. “13”, nah. Juliana, not taking LongTooth’s taunts to heart, but seeing the situation turn a bit desperate, steps up to attack. She moves towards LongTooth, intent on tripping/attacking when he’s down. LongTooth smiles and takes his AOO: “11”, missing the high-AC Juliana. Juliana, sweating a bit at this point, but happy her shield knocked away his blow, attempts to trip the rat-bastard. (get it? Rat bastard? Good one, huh?). Juliana makes her touch attack “14” and goes for the trip. Is LongTooth down? She rolls a “9” and he rolls an “8” which means he’s tripped, and falls to the ground in a grunty heap. Which then triggers Juliana’s “real” attack, which also negates her fighting defensively penalty. She yells {insert something appropriate here as she attempts to revenge fallen Hallidor} and swings…rolling a “15” which isn’t enough to hit, due to the fighting defensively business. Still, LongTooth is prone, and Juliana ain’t dead.

I6: Almayce heals himself with his wand, stopping the bat bleeding business.

I1: Vargo heals Huln with a cure minor wounds, stopping the bleeding, and giving him 1 hit point back. Then Vargo looks over at the prone form of LongTooth and, smiling grimly, states: “Go doggie. Chew doggie.”

Huln casually ambles over to flanking position behind Juliana (animals know enough to attack on both sides if they can), and doesn’t get any AOO due to, well, LongTooth having used them all up. Huln decides to bite, at +6 (prone, flanking) over other bonuses. Rolls a “9”. Sadly, it just ain’t enough. Still, LongTooth is down and flanked. He’s obviously grumpy about this.

(OOC: Zaeryl will continue dying with style. Oh, and in case it comes up, I believe prone characters don't threaten squares, so that was another reason why you were right that Huln didn't get AoO smacked :))

OOC: Not that it matters in this case, since it still wouldn't overcome the DR, but Razh's pickaxe deals 1d6+3 damage, as opposed to 1d6+1 which is what you rolled. My bad, I've been doing it wrong for... a long time then. =P

Angered that his new weapons were not performing half as well as he had expected them to, Razh swipes again and again at his newest opponent, Stinker.

"Nice to see you remember to bow to the ladies" Juliana says to the rat-bastard as she trips him. Juliana will continue to attack the leader. If he tries to get up (She gets an AoO from that), she'll trip him again. If he is standing, she will trip him. If he is not, she will simply attack. She is no longer fighting defensively (+2 to hit, 1d8+2 dmg, x2 crit) "I got him down, get him with an arrow, I'll keep him down."

(OOC: OK, now I totally don't want to be the guy who loses his fellow PCs a bonus when they are being throttled by overwhelming baddies, but how do you get the +3 on the off-hand?)

OOC: You only get 1/2 strength rounded down from an off hand weapon on damage.

get him with an arrow
(OOC: Actually, its harder to hit prone guys with arrows. Prolly better to totally surround him in melee range. If he stands up, he takes an AoO from everyone, and his weapon doesn't hit adjacent foes (plus no 5-foot step for prone folks), so he'll be forced to drop it and fight with natural weapons at a -4 :))

OOC: Just take the arrow and stab him with it.

OOC: Or somebody could try to grapple him while he's in the ground (he gets prone penalties to Grapple I think). That would keep him occupied and he would lose his dexterity bonus to AC. Just somebody get that friggin' swarm the hell out of Almayce's way so he can heal people!
