Spell list sheet for Elements of Magic

Asmor

First Post
I was bored and whipped this up. I think it came out pretty nice. It was made with OpenOffice.org, and I tried to save it to excel's format but something got lost in translation. Not to fear, though, as I included a pdf so that anyone can print it.

I include Hex and Drain as seperate action types on the appropriate tables, though they're at the end and listed in parantheses so they're easy to ignore. Personally I like having them as seperate spell lists, and it also has the added bonus of making the alignment and creature tables both have 6 columns. Yay symmetry!

Attached is a screenshot of the sheet for quick and easy preview and a zip file with the PDF and .sxc (OpenOffice.org's file format). I should mention that the PDF looks much better than the screenshot. More smooth, more legible.

Asmor, incredibly groovy. Do you think you could have rows of alternating colors/grayscales so it's easier to find something in the middle of the table? If you do, and if it's cool with you, I'll try to get this up as an EOM web enhancement.

Wow! I'm honored! (insert the buggy-eyed smilie icon here because I don't know how to make it)

I don't know why I didn't think of adding alternating colored rows before, I knew it was a pain to navigate the elements table but I was trying to think of stupid things to do like breaking it into smaller chunks. I have a problem with sometimes not noticing the simple solutions...

I also added heavier lines seperating every 3 columns. Doesn't make much of a difference for alignments and creatures, but a huge, huge improvement for the elements table. It's damn-near user-friendly, now!

I've attached the new PDF.

EDIT: Had an idea in the shower to remove the box surrounding the free-text area at the bottom. Doesn't look quite as pretty, imho, but it gives more freedom in writing outside the lines if neccessary. Deleted the last attachment and uploaded this one.

Not normally the sort to bump my own post, but haven't heard from Ranger Wickett about revisions to the sheet yet

If you could reduce how grey the grey sections are, it would be better.

I would use a 10% black fill, MAYBE as dark as a 20% black fill, but not as dark as it is currently in the PDF.

Oh, hell, I didn't realize it was like that. When I changed the bottom to get rid of the box, I guess I never bothered opening up the PDF again. I don't know how or why it reverted to the 40% shading (which is what I tried at first, but I agree it was too dark, so I switched to 10%), but somehow it did. Anyways, here it is with 10% grey, as it was intended. And I even double checked the PDF after I zipped it. :)

How embarassing >_<
