Grit-in-yer-Teeth Gunfights! Lose yourself in the Old West with this revolutionary new game system...

Wouldn't it be great to actually place the crosshairs on your target instead of simply rolling a d20? With the new Shot Clock game aid you can do just that. This quick and innovative system allows you to choose where to fire and instantly know where that bullet went. Did your shot hit its mark, or did you merely knock your target's hat off his head? Did you shoot his gun from his hand or just dent a spur?

Includes:
- Quick start rules get you in the action in minutes
- Scenarios to test yer mettle
- Advanced rules you can incorporate as you see fit
- Use your experience to enhance your gunfighter
- Pick from a selection of twenty-one pistols & rifles
- Accurate Cover Rules
- Realistic Wounding Tables
- Mishaps & failures
- Map of the town of Lazarus
- An introduction to the Alternative History of the Shattered Frontiers

This amazing supplement provides skirmish rules for any roleplaying or tabletop simulation of a Wild West shootout, and is both incredibly realistic and easy to use. As well as including a special Shot Clock combat simulator and Silhouette for fast and accurate shooting - where even a near miss can be deadly - Aces & Eights: Showdown provides both basic and advanced fighting and brawling rules. Whether you prefer a quick duel in the streets or a massive gun battle raging through town, this is one western book you can't afford to miss!

---

Coming next spring: the full-blown Aces & Eights roleplaying game! After all, there's more to Aces & Eights than just showdowns - find grit-in-the-teeth roleplaying with the royal flush of wild west RPGs!

The RPG will include additional Shot Clocks and Silhouettes; new guns (including shotguns and a shotgun scatterpattern Shot Clock); rules for mounted gunfights, explosives, primitive hand-to-hand fighting, brawling and more; rules for running ongoing characters; rules for Fame and Reputation, a complete detailed alternative history of the Shattered Frontiers; chapters dedicated to cattle drives, prospecting, gambling and horses; a new skill system featuring scores of unique skills; and the ability to choose from over fourscore different professions in this novel and flexible system.

Very fun game

I had a blast playing this at Gencon. Highly recommended. I also got to "blast" an opponent w/ my shotgun...its all about the shotgun.

Great work guys!
Bill

Mark, I believe it was you who showed me the A&8 book at GenCon, and I wanted to thank you for taking the time to go through it and point out its features with two guys who were obviously just browsing during a very busy time of day on Saturday. I planned to swing back by the booth on Sunday to pick it up, but never managed to get there. I'll be picking this up soon!

BTW, I loved the concept of the Shot Clock system. Who came up with that concept?

No problem! Glad you managed to stop by the booth!

I believe it was mostly David Kenzer's brainchild. I've had several people mention that Milennium's End also used plastic overlays, but we didn't know that until after we'd already started the project. I believe ME's system is quite different (and more complicated) too, but that's only based on what I've heard.
