This just in from TVshowsonDVD.com:

BCI Eclipse has announced the He-Man & She-Ra Christmas Special for release on December 6. Here's the information from their sell-sheet:

The holiday season comes to the magical worlds of Eternia and Etheria in the He-Man & She-Ra Christmas Special! when Orko accidentally winds up on Earth during the Christmas winter, he befriends two children after saving their lives. While trying to figure out a way back home, the children tell a curious Orko about the nature of the holidays and the good will and cheer that go hand in hand.

When they finally return to Eternia, the holiday spirit is spread amongst the entire Royal Palace. Everyone soon rejoices at the idea of Christmas the same time they honor the nearby birthday's of Princess Adora and her twin brother Prince Adam... also known to us as She-Ra and He-Man!

But trouble brews when the horrible Horde Prime commands Skeletor and Hordak to crush this newly discovered festive enthusiasm. Soon, Hordak and Skeletor are in a contest to kidnap the children, appease Horde Prime and destroy Christmas on Eternia and Etheria!

Now He-Man and She-Ra, along with one of the largest teams of heroes ever depicted in a single episode, struggle to stop these two super villains and a colossal crew of evil lackeys from completing their horrible mission! Watch to see how the forces of evil stack up against our heroes and the holiday spirit in the He-Man & She-Ra Christmas Special!

  • The complete "Christmas Special" script in PDF format
Reader Zach Harris also tipped us off to a new Q&A session that He-Man.org had with BCI, and lots of info is revealed there. The most important is that they are planning on the release of Season 1, Volume 2 right after the first of the year, then the first half of Season 2 in the Spring, and the rest of Season 2 in the Summer. By Fall 2006 you ought to see the first half of The New Adventures of He-Man, and the second half of that before the end of that year. They are still pursuing She-Ra's regular episodes (including the pilot "The Secret of the Sword"), and other Filmation titles as well. Oh, and it's worth noting that the "ultra-slim" packaging for Season 1, Volume 1 has been chucked...they're going to go strictly with the fold-out "digipak" style box that will be familiar to fans of the original "G1" Transformers on DVD. There's a lot more info at that Q&A you'll want to read, especially as pertains to on-disc extras and what other content you will and won't see. Check it out on the Sept. 13 update at www.He-Man.org

I wonder why they changed She-Ra's original outfit for the cartoon, though.

The outfit we see in the image above was originally the outfit of Princess Adora. In the She-Ra mini-comics, when she changed into She-Ra, Adora turned her headress upside down (turning it into a mask to conceal her identity) and removed the cape. It was a cool move.

Huh? Never seen that or even heard of it. Never saw the comics. Only the cartoons, in which She-Ra wears what shes wearing in the pic, and Adora wore a red pantsuit kinda thing.

This was Adora's original outfit in the minicomics that came with the dolls (no sense in calling them "action figures", right?):

Attached below is an image from She-Ra's first appearance in the mini-comics.

Wow, Ive never seen any of the She-Ra mini comics :) Never actually had any She-Ra figures, unless you count Evil Horde, and could never talk my sister into wanting any.
