New Digi-photo doodles

First Post
I'm not a real artist. I'm just a shmuck that twists reality into fantasy and tries to make money doing it.

Michael ( shivamuffin )

Don't be disturbed...It's Adobe magic and a lot of delicate " mousing "...oh, and a good looking chick willing to pose for my horrific works.

No animals, people, or C.E.O's were hurt during the making of this picture.

I disagree with the statement that you're not a 'real' artist. That's an interesting and compelling image (like it or dislike it), and if we're going to talk about it, we have to talk about it not the way it was made . . . so in that respect, what's the difference between your digital image and a painting?

Littlejohn's digitial paintings are mostly done in Adobe software, does that make them less artistic? Or does that cheapen his process?

I assume you photograph, Photoshop and finalize the image yourself, based on your own concept, right?

Sorry to derail the thread, boss.

I really enjoy the hot-librarian-turned-cult-assasin theme. :)

Would you post or link to a larger resolution image, please?

I'm just self concious lately...I get some heat from the " real artists " that draw and paint...especially when I try to sell this stuph...

Larger Image...I'll see what I can do...

Oh, and I'm really impressed with the Adobe art people are coming up with....I just don'y have the patience to colorize my drawings....I need one of those digital drawing pads! I played with a demo once....very cooool for us digi art rebels.

Michael

digital manipulation

Not sure who said that digital manipulation wasn't art.. In any case I'd ignore them, creating a piece is the process, and you use a different process then some. I really like the photo manipulation, it is about compositing or changing an image to make it your own.

The image still invokes drama, and story.. it's not flat or lifeless, which some illustration can be.. different tools, same goals, outstanding results in this case:)

I agree with (contact), what is a 'real' artist anyway?

Actually, I did this pic in the hopes of getting a COC gig...so far, no word...although the guy liked the stuph a lot....Hopefully I don't inspire any real life reenactments...." Don't try this at home!! "

Anyway, this pic's story...It is an occult Librarian that has been slain by a doppleganger...COC d20 really doesn't have too much material on these creatures, so I thought that this pic may inspire a flood of scenarios and new goodies. So far Chaosium has said thooooohth!!!:p Same for my Idea about an 18th century COC setting....In New France/ Colonial North America...Here's a pic for that.

It's a Huron Native calling upon the forces of Cthulhu to drive out the white man...

Hahahahaha! "Real Artists"? thats a frigging joke!, throught the course of your life you will meet many prententious people who "apparently" have the sole knowledge of was its "right or wrong", my only advice its: "Ignore them and do what you love!"

Anyway, these pics are actually quite cool, you just need to get rid of the black backgroung and of the "Lens Flare", one little recomendation, perhaps you might want to study alternative photographic processes, Im sure that if you like photography youll gonna love these! (here is a good book about these BTW, "Beyond Monochrome, A fine art printing workshop, by Ray Spence and Tony Worobiec".

Keep the good work!
