How do you compare? What color is your most-used set of dice?

What color is your CURRENTLY most-used set of dice?

I don't normally use 1 particular set. In fact, up until about 5 months ago I didn't even own a complete set of dice, they were all singles in assorted colours. Not that it really bothered me.

I have a favored set of mottled violet / blue set, but they have been replaced by my set of polished brass dice. My players now fear the roll of the Brazen!

My most used 'set' (actually about four full sets) are black with white numbers.

I run games for children at a summer program, so I get all sorts of colorful dice for them to use, and keep the boring black and whites for me, so I can make sure that they don't get mixed up with someone else's. A Royal Crown bag full of dice.

The actual dice I have used the most however are some twenty five year old Game Science d 10s that I got at a convention way back when. These are likely my favorites, since I won them as a prize in a Call of Cthulhu game.

They are also the closest I have to 'friendly' dice - most of my dice hate everyone. :) (Good thing I am the games master, eh?)

It depends on what mood I'm in. When it's just regular, I use blue ones.....but when I want to frighten the players, I pull out black dice with red writing...the players call them "demon dice", because they've got a weird habit of rolling higher than my other set, and killing characters..

My currently most used set of dice is a yellow d4, orange d6, green d8, blue d12, red and white d%/d20s, and a bunch of extra red and white d6s. The former are authentic low impact "old school" TSR dice from the 70s (which I bought a couple sets of a year or so back from Noble Knight Games), the latter I picked up in a couple packs at a liquor store.

Before I started using these, my most used dice were two matched sets, one purple and one black, plus an extra red "10s" d10, and some extra black and white d6s with "skulls" in place of 1s.

Bam! Those are the dice I'm using right now - mostly blues, whites, and greys. I got 'em out of the bin at my FLGS, back when I worked there. The dice I had been using (reds and greens) mostly made their way back into the cheap dice bins at the store, as a recycling effort. I like to think that my dice are out there somewhere, destroying other people's PCs like they did mine.

I mostly go with color themes, but I have to have enough variety that I can differentiate the dice I use - that way, if I need to do a claw/claw/bite/tail slap/wing buffet/wing buffet routine, or something crazy like that, I can actually keep it all separate. Or the PC I'm playing now - sword damage, Vicious damage, Vicious damage to me, and sometimes Psionic Weapon damage as well. That's a lot of d6s to keep track of.

Which set, for which character, and for which game? I have lots of sets of dice as well as unique individual die, and I try to match them to the characters and/or games I'm playing. For Traveller T20, for example, I have some spacy, futuristic sets of dice.

For my home campaign, I have sets to represent both of my characters: Mostly black, grey and red for my fighter/rogue, and colorful Mardi Gras swirls for my bard.

For playing RPGA, I have a couple of sets I use that are primarily red, although there is one green d20 and a white d20 with black numbers in the bag as well. And a matched set of blue d6s for my rogues' sneak attack damage.

For DMing RPGA, I use my colorful DM Dice o' Death that came in the d20 Basic Edition box set. Each die is a different, bright color.

I only use my enormous red ones these days because they're big enough that I can read the lettering from halfway across the room, I don't lose them, they hurt like hell when you throw them at someone, and I don't have to worry about anyone putting them into their mouth and swallowing one unless they're all grown up and an idiot.

I've tried to convince the rest of the group to either get bigger dice or use mine, because I'm tired of vacuuming up plastic, stepping on unseen dice, and it's just basically safer. They're all die superstitious though, which bothers me to no end. If your dice are really knocking out consistent numbers for anything then they're not good dice and I don't want you using them.

Set?

I don't really have a set of dice, I have a box. I have about 30 20-siders, and lots of everything else, probably over 150 dice in my box. I don't use any one exclusively, I just grab the first one that comes to hand.
