Skeleton Water Room Picture?

I've been trying to find the remake of the old 1E DMG picture of the adventurer trapped in the room with a skeleton as it fills with water. It was recreated later (in color, if i recall) with a female adventurer in the same predicament.

Can anyone tell me in which book the later picture can be found?

I've seen it a few times over the years. There's one in the revised 2e PHB, with a barbarian. And I know I've seen one in the 3e years. I think the one you're talking about is a 4e image, though - but I don't know the exact source, unfortunately.

It is, of course, an absolute classic. To me, it's the iconic D&D image, bar none.

The image you're looking for featured Alhandra, the 3rd edition iconic paladin character as I recall.
I'm pretty sure it appeared in one of the Dungeon Master's Guides for 3rd edition or 3.5, but I can't find it in the art galleries online. My gut feeling is it was in the 3.0 DMG only.

I seem to recall a 1e picture along those lines. I want to say that it was in the DMG, but I could easily be wrong.

Edit: Gah, I just realized the OP mentioned the 1e pic. I feel dumb now... :(
