Is there a helpful guide for re-speccing monsters in-line with MM3 etc?

So my players are having to easier time of it...

I need to re-spec monsters in line with the myriad updates/errata/MM3 et al, is there some collected cheat/help sheet somewhere that for each moster type- artillery, solo whatever catalogues the changes made to date?

Or anything at all like this?

If not where do I go to gather all of the data I need to create one, or at least knock something together I can use?

I didn't know that Solo's now came with 20% less HPs, or had reduced defences, or that Soldiers now don't have a +2 To Hit- where should I be looking?

Apologies if this is an incredibly stupid series of question- I'm famous for it. I just thought it would be good to have all this info in one place so I can re-spec in confidence.

Seconded! I find the new math difficult to get right for the same reason as the OP. An abbreviated "How to Update Your Monsters For Dummies" would be perfect.

I don't mind if I had to put it together myself- I'm an anally retentive so-and-so, I just need to find out where all the myriad new rules are to be found.

I'd even go so far as to put together monster collections with the new stats for the official WOTC modules as and when I convert them over, such is my love of neatness...

But where do they hide all the rules?

I've been in the errata archive on WOTC site but can't fathom out where it is?

The HP reduction for epic solos came with MM2, along with decreased defenses for elites and solos. So, go back to your MM1 and subtract 1 from two NADs on each elite and solo. That's all I know, though there is more. I too would like to have all the general rules in one place.

The last update has a damage chart per level and states that for brutes you multiply the damage by 25%.

Yeah I have the last update and am working from that, I just didn't realise that a lot of other stuff had passed me by, like Minions, Solos etc.

I just want to see if I can put something together all the changes in one place, or better still find someone that has already done it.

Old vs New for Kobolds in the first two encounters of KOTS- does this look right?

I'm using the AT and just resetting each damage value to zero and then resetting it back to whatever it was previously (which auto filters in the new damage).

Making sure Init, Defences, HP & Attacks (To Hit) are in line with those shown on page 4 of the July errata.

I actually think most of the standard MM1 monsters at heroic (at least low heroic) tier don't need any tweaking. I've played with kobolds as they are since the update, and the amount of damage they do seems to be fine as it is but too strong with the updated damage and accuracy.

Maybe minions could get a boost in damage though, like 1 point.

Also, do you have the DMG2? That tells you the MM2 changes to monsters at the end of chapter 4.

I have all the hardbacks, thanks for pointing out where it was- I must admit I've only read what I needed to... I didn't know it was there.

Thanks again.

Why I started this thread initially was because I wanted to restat the creatures in the Feywild section of the module P1 in line with the MM3 guidelines etc.

To that end after reading here, and on the Wizards site etc I have now restated the creatures using what guidelines I could find, take a look if you get the chance and tell me where the problems lie-
