Grand Vizier of the Googly Mooglies
With her location compromised by Viztao Technologies’ whitehats, LANrefn1 pulled out her hyperjack just in time not to get fried by the viruses drowning the panels of hardware all around her apartment. Meanwhile the on-site deathbot she’d managed to hack had just been fried by sec-ops hot on the tail of Warp and Cripple Beast—fortunately there was enough time to override a nearby freight elevator and her operator buddies made it to a floor of the Highmark Tower with windows. Bending space, Warp teleports Cripple Beast and the unconscious, bloodied angel dangling over the ex-murderballer’s shoulder into relatively safety on an empty rooftop a few blocks away. Grabbing her go bag and dipping out the fire exit, Tilla the hacker dodges out the back alley just as Viztao drones start cutting through the windows to her old home, the sound of wailing sirens growing louder with every passing moment.
Welcome to the world of Hypercorps 2099, a cyberpunk superhero fantasy campaign setting designed for use with the gaming systems you already know and love (the Pathfinder RPG, D&D 5th Edition, and more as funding allows). Trade in your studded leather armor and crossbow for a kevlar vest and combat pistol in this gritty future ruled over by hypercorporations in constant warfare with one another, acting through operators—the PCs—to conduct never-ending campaigns of subterfuge, espionage, and sabotage against their competitors.
FREE STUFF!
YES! The Kickstarter launches with five free PDFs so you can see what you’re getting into. Additionally there’s a phone app game (the Jarrikol Protocol) that folks can download the demo for (on their desktop) to play right away.
WHAT IS IT?
Rules that work like Mythic Adventures, laying over the existing rules of your preferred gaming system to bring it into a superheroic cyberpunk future.
HOW DOES IT DO THAT?
With the Hyper Score system! You can see the very beginning of it in the Hypercorps 2099: Pathfinder Primer and Hypercorps 2099: 5th Edition Playtest PDFs. For Pathfinder players there’s also the Netjacker class, Hypernet dimension, and A R.I.P.E. Investment (an adventure module set in the wastlelands of future Cleveland).
WHO?
A crew of veteran Paizo freelancers are at the core of the design and writing team (myself, Michael McCarthy, Savannah Broadway, and Luis Loza) and among the stretch goals are luminaries like Thurston Hillman, Tim Hitchcock, Howard Andrew Jones, and many more! A CLAUDIO POZAS illustration on the cover is our first stretch goal for artwork!
WHEN IS IT?
RIGHT NOW! The Kickstarter lasts throughout the month of September and into the very beginning of October!
