The topic is a + thread about closing the gap between casters and martials..
So either
1. you are suggesting that casters should be buffed and martials should be buffed waaay more..
2. you are not honoring the spirit of the thread
3. you are trolling.
If it's the first please expand.. if it's one of the latter two. Please stop.

If we remove non-combat spells from spell slots, make them rituals, and give everyone a free ritual caster feat, that would largely close the gap by boosting martials. If you wanted to just nerf casters, simply remove those same spells from the game. Using the gritty realism rules goes a long way to nerfing casters. You could double (or more) the XP required to level casters. You could level cap casters at something low, like 5th level and make that equivalent to a 20th level martial. All it would take is a bit of math. Combine four levels of standard XP and it takes that for the caster to level 1. Etc.
Would it be considered not in the spirit of the thread to say that the way to fix the gap, which exists, is for martials to not exist? Then there won't be a gap anymore.
Unironically, you guys want superhero martials, let's just make sure there are no mundane martial characters. Give them magical and supernatural powers.
