@Whizbang Dustyboots thanks for clarifying the Broken Compass/Outgunned situation.
I didn't quite know what was going on.

Based on this video, it sounds like supernatural foes will be in O:A, and the picture used for this video features two undead mummies, so... probably.Broken Compass/Outgunned: Adventure begs to run games based on those. For Broken Compass, at least, the supernatural stuff was in the Golden Age sourcebook, which was their specific Indiana Jones-era book, while the core book (the Adventure Journal) was much more focused on Uncharted.
I don't know if Outgunned: Adventure has the supernatural stuff in it by default.
Putting the Indiana Jones-enabling content in a separate book was a weird call for Broken Compass. Sure, there are plenty of Uncharted/Lara Croft fans out there who could just use the core book, but making Indiana Jones-style content be a separate purchase was a little goofy.Based on this video, it sounds like supernatural foes will be in O:A, and the picture used for this video features two undead mummies, so... probably.
While I am tempted to pick up the PDF now, I will probably wait until I can order a hard copy from (likely) Free League Publishing, since the PDF will probably be included with the purchase. Also love ordering from Free League since that order will be within Europe.
I'm not even sure I could name the key differences between them, besides milieu. They are all the same genre.Putting the Indiana Jones-enabling content in a separate book was a weird call for Broken Compass. Indiana Jones (and the Mummy series) has the most supernatural stuff. I don't play Uncharted, but my impression is that it doesn't have any overt magic happening. And Lara Croft has some of it (and dinosaurs!), but is mostly grounded in an action movie version of the real world.I'm not even sure I could name the key differences between them, besides milieu. I think the differences are of scale, not kind.Indiana Jones (and the Mummy series) has the most supernatural stuff. The differences are worth the separate books and it was due to them just having the Broken Compass rights sold...which they just got back a few days ago. They wanted to do something with the system but not just repeat Broken Compass, so they did Outgunned as their John Wick-style action movie RPG. The focus there is, as you might guess, high action and lots of fighting bad guys. They circled back to Indiana Jones and the Mummy style adventure movies with Outgunned: Adventure. The focus there is, as you might guess, lot of adventure and keeping your eye on the prize (the MacGuffin you're after) rather than John Wick-style shoot 'em ups. Both books are complete games unto themselves, so there's zero need for both unless you want both genres.Putting the Indiana Jones-enabling content in a separate book was a weird call for Broken Compass. I'm talking about two different Broken Compass books: The Adventure Journal and the Golden Age, the two books from their original Kickstarter campaign. The differences are worth the separate books and it was due to them just having the Broken Compass rights sold...which they just got back a few days ago.
Sorry. So many people use one when they mean the other. I assumed you were doing the same.I'm talking about two different Broken Compass books: The Adventure Journal and the Golden Age, the two books from their original Kickstarter campaign.
Leather jackets vs spandex.I'm not even sure I could name the key differences between them, besides milieu. They are all the same genre.
