What are some of the best big city/urban settings from any publisher, era or edition?

I’ve only played (as a PC) Ptolus from Monte Cook Games as a 5E Thieves Guild heist game. I Enjoyed it immensely. Tons of factions and locations detailed. There was a lot of material mentioned in the thread about the Goodman Games City State of the Invincible Overlord controversy I hadn’t heard of. So I’d like to hear about alternatives.

Sharn, City of Towers (3/3.5e) is pretty hard to beat in this sense. It's setting specific to Eberron, but it showcases the city really well and breathes a lot of life and details in to it.
