Not DnD is a weekly show discussing tabletop roleplaying games. Each week EN Publishing’s @tabletopjess interviews the creators behind different tabletop roleplaying games that aren’t D&D!

You can watch the live recording every Monday at 5pm ET / 10pm BST on YouTube or Twitch, or listen on the podcast platform of your choice.

In September we are looking at tabletop RPGs for a sci-fi setting!

Hidden Worlds Refined Core

On 8th September Bryan Donihue will join us on Not DnD to talk about Fizanthra's Guide to the Fringe which provides a sci-fi setting he Hidden Worlds Refined Core.

Hidden Worlds is a single d20-based game with skill-based mechanics and Story-based advancement for characters. An open magic system and quick deadly combat allows for a huge amount of flexibility and creativity for both the GM and players.

Recently funded on Kickstarter, Fizanthra's Guide to the Fringe will have a late pledge options on backerkit for anyone interested.

Blue Planet

Blue Planet was originally published over 25 years ago. The TTRPG received broad acclaim for its deep, detailed, and realistic setting, presenting a precarious future threatened by the dire consequences of ecological collapse. Issues like biodiversity loss, ocean acidification, and climate change were relevant 25 years ago, and even more so today.

On 15th September Jeff Barber will talk us through the new edition of the system (Blue Planet: Recontact), which provides an extensive evolution of the core mechanics, taking advantage of two decades of RPG development.

Astra Arcanum

Astra Arcanum is a new Sci-Fi Tabletop RPG from ENNIE winning studio with deep tactical combat, a massive character creation suite, and a vast setting to explore.

The game had a hugely successful kickstarter in June 2025, and is now in development with a planned delivery of December 2026.

On 22nd September we’ll be talking to the Metis Media about the how the development of the game is going, and get some behind the scenes information.

Last month it was baking, this month it was space, I was fully expecting space cake... ;)

The first KS mentioned raised $709...
Curious about the difference between the new Blue Planet and the 1st edtion BP.
The third KS mentioned raised $288k and will deliver product by the end of 2026.

I'm kind of missing what you can play right now and isn't a mainline IP, but still well received, something like Mothership, Across a Thousand Dead Worlds, ENTITY, etc.

So... none of the videos are posted yet. Looks like you were at least 3 days early. Would do better to post each one, after it's live. Nothing to talk about until we can watch them...

No mention of Traveller? Oh well. 🤷‍♂️

Would love an interview with @Mongoose_Matt to discuss all things Traveller, as well as other Mongoose offerings
I'm not opposed or anything, but isn't Traveller not a little bit too mainstream for this series? Heck it's as old as Star Wars!

There already was a whole slew of Traveller interviews last year, not on here, but elsewhere, the one with Mongoose Matt is here: That channel has four interviews with folks from Mongoose, and even one with Marc Miller (plus a TON of other Traveller interviews).

They’re livestreams. Think of this like a TV listing so you know when it’s going to happen. They are also posted here on the actual day, too. As we have done every week for the last three years.

But thanks for the advice. ;)
