The Table of Contents for both Heroes of Faerun and Adventures in Faerun.
Picked the books up this morning and love what I’ve seen so far. I’ll answer whatever questions I can here.
No specifics on subtypes in Heroes of Faerun.Any new stuff about how goliaths fit into the setting, and specifically, anything addressing all of these new subtypes? My first instinct is that they all somehow mimic the culture of their respective giant equivalent.
Not much. There is mention of Orc myths involving a rivalry between Gruumsh and Corellon. There is also a mention that Orcs came to Toril from other worlds, with a legend that Faerun was divided among the various species, there was no more room for Orcs to have their own, so Gruumsh declared they would live everywhere. Is anything stated about Gruumsh in the new books?
From what I can find, no mention of Bahamut at all, and Tiamat is only mentioned in relation to the Cult of the Dragon.Any mention of Bahamut and Tiamat? Now that we are asking about gods
Heroes of Faerun talks about Goliaths not AdventuresNo specifics on subtypes in Heroes of Faerun.
Adventures does mention Goliaths for a number of places, but still not much detail on them, there, either.
Both books mention where they can be found, but neither details subtypes or traits. At best, Heroes says that they tend to be like the Giants in the area they reside (extrapolated example: Fire Giant Goliaths residing atop Mount Neverwinter).Heroes of Faerun talks about Goliaths not Adventures
For Goliaths, that seems they share local Giant cultures. Both books mention where they can be found, but neither details subtypes or traits. At best, Heroes says that they tend to be like the Giants in the area they reside (extrapolated example: Fire Giant Goliaths residing atop Mount Neverwinter).
@JPL I should have been clearer about that, sorry.
