And just like that! I'm out. I was scrolling on the YouTubes when I came across a Batman short. Joker is making fun of Absolute Batman and Last Christmas was the background music. At first I wasn't sure if it was a cover, but when the lyrics kicked in I knew I'd be whammed. That's okay. I like Last Christmas.

I haven't heard it yet, and I won't be seeking it out. But I am looking forward to hearing it. Makes me think of my dad, who thought it was the best "modern" Christmas song, despite not being a fan of 80s music.

Good luck. I thought I'd be missing my staff party due to travel, but then our schedule changed and now I'm going, so my odds just got a lot lower, as well.

So logic clearly dictates that if you think you're hearing the song, you might as well listen some more just in case it turns out to be a cover, like this version by Ukrainian band No Apology:

And if you're still not sure whether it was a cover, load up the original on YouTube or your app of choice to do a side-by-side comparison. That way you'll know for sure whether you're out.
