[ Sending messages between crystal spheres is hard. Tangentially, an Artificer's tinkered items are indefinitely magical, at least till you try to make more than your maximum number of allowed items. This means that you could, in theory, send a one way encoded message by turning off tinkered items, possibly between crystal spheres or even planes. ]
