OSR Rock & Roar KS Live w/fun video. Monsters based on classic rock/pop/metal/&more music

A couple months back as this idea was percolating we had a fun thread with a bunch of cool ideas to build on it. Now the project is over 1/2 written and we have art for half of it as well. So the Kickstarter is now live! See more previews and details there. But definitely give the video a watch--really proud of how that last minute idea/parody came to life.

Quick summary: “Rock and Roar” is an OSR bestiary with creature concepts based on classic rock/pop/metal & more song titles and band names. The project offers two books–one for Shadowdark, and the other has the same monsters/art but with stats for Old-School Essentials (OSE, a faithful B/X or early D&D clone).

Each book will have at least 50 monsters, plus appendices for a fun setting map, magic Items, NPCs, and lists of alternate spell names. The book size is similar to the Shadowdark and OSE books. Each monster gets its own page with a backstory/ecology, stats and abilities, and charts of alternate powers or idea generators.

Our Rock & Roar project is going strong and evolving through a bunch of stretch goals. We've added a setting map with places like Stairway to Heaven, Northern Town, Fields of Gold, Jungle Love, etc. And magic items such as Rolling Stones will be a pouch of pebbles you can fling at foes and they enlarge into boulders; a Raspberry Beret will be basically a hat of Charisma. And we're <$30 from adding two mini-quests of one or two 2-page spreads each! (Of course the quests will also riff off song titles: All You Zombies, Danger Zone, Fortress Around Your Heart, etc.)

We hope to hit that goal a few times to hopefully have a collection of 8-10 mini-quests in the setting using the monsters, magic items, and NPCs--another possible stretch goal is NPCs like Major Tom, Sargent Pepper, Roxanne, Queen of Hearts, Ace of Spades, Sara, and so on.

With more monsters, NPCs, magic items, a map, and mini-quests, we're creating not just a bestiary, but more of a setting book or toolkit! Please give it a look. The stretch goals are all no-extra-cost to backers, so you're already getting 20% extra monsters-of-rock madness!

Here is one of those mini-quests. This is one that will be two 2-page spreads. The first will have art and/or an area map on one page and the other page will be background GM info, story hooks, random encounters, and advice on running it--particularly talking about the 'clock' aspect of this quest. But this is the main map and encounters list.
