Ravenloft: The Horrors Within

Ravenloft: The Horrors Within Announced, Release Date Scheduled for June 2026

They kind of were already doing that since Theros.
Kinda? Ravnica tied it to backgrounds. Theros to gifts and you could take a feat in place of one. Ravenloft did kiss/curse abilities. Dragonlance gave bonus feats. Eberron used sub races. I guess this could unify them all into one mechanic that can't be doubled up on. I wager factions might get similar feats to express "beliefs" as well one day...

Methinks you shouldsts googleth before you make such statements(eth).
I generally like gray matter searches better, even if it's not my own. So I thought I'd ask. I guess it's easier to pull off the pointy-eared look in settings with elves. Without them, one might draw undue attention to his god-accursed state.

So glad Matt Mercer landed the Strahd gig! Maybe his next game will be called Stakeheart?

Seriously . . . was Strahd always an elf?
Actually, vampires have been depicted with pointy ears for decades. It's meant to make their features appear more angular and compliment their sharp fangs. It has nothing to do with elves, though I see why you'd believe it may.

That's what it appears to be from the blurb, but I would hope there is more because a repeat of material would seem to be a key point to ensure that this book is highly worthless for most people (unless they are that desperate for the updated and new player options).
Even if a million people bought Van Richten's and the low end of active players is half of those who use Beyond, that would mean up to five million people could purchase this book and not see repetitive stuff.

I mean if we are going down that road, best is to wipe one's hands of Wizards and play Shadowdark. ;)
