Deadly Denizens Vol. IV March Art Preview #2: Serving as our second art preview for the month of March and rooted in traditional Balkan folklore, the Bauk is a terrifying fey creature descended from bugbears whose blood has been irrevocably warped by centuries spent in the gloom of the Shadowfell.
Resembling a gaunt, misshapen ape with elongated arms and shadow-matted fur, this spiteful predator moves with a sickeningly ungainly gait to silently stalk its prey through caves, dark ruins, sewers, and dim forests.
Though inherently skittish around bright campfires and loud noises, these solitary hunters project an unsettling aura of dread, lunging from the darkness to snatch unwary travelers and village children before vanishing back into the gloom.
