The new RPG is independent from Pathfinder and Starfinder.

Paizo has announced a new horror RPG that will not use the Pathfinder/Starfinder 2E game engine. Announced today, 13 Omens is a new rules-lite RPG designed by Jason Bulmahn and Joe Pasini. The game is set in a "dark reflection of our world; beset by horrifying specters, bloodthirsty killers, cursed places, and secrets best left unknown." No further details were announced for the game, save that it will use an easy-to-learn game engine that ramps up tension as the game moves along. You can sign up for a mailing list on Paizo's website.

The new RPG is notable as it marks Paizo's third-ever RPG. Paizo as a company has focused primarily on Pathfinder and Starfinder, as well as accessories and the occasional peripheral tabletop or card game. Bulmahn is the Director of Games for Paizo and has previously worked on Hopefinder, a horror-themed zombie apocalypse RPG that used the Pathfinder 2E engine.

I am interested in the mechanics too.

I am becoming more interested in playing D&D with mini-games mixed in that borrow from other rules sets.

Maybe this game would make a Ravenloft game more interesting.

They're going to be running it at UKGE ( 13 Omens with creator Jason Bulmahn ).

13 Omens is a rules-light horror roleplaying game set in our world, but beset by supernatural terrors. The game is designed to be played in a single evening and it features a shared bag of communal dice, to which more and more Omen Dice are added throughout the evening, to amp up the danger.

This session will run a full three-hour adventure. This is a horror game; content warnings and safety tools will be discussed at the start. Character death is extremely likely.

Sounds like a interesting mechanic. Looking forward to learning more.

Good for Pazio for going outside the D20 box.

Now that is interesting news! I have always been curious about Paizo's focus on Pathfinder since - from what I understand as an outsider - they are considerably larger as a company compared to a lot of other known publishers, but their portfolio is rather deep than wide. Of course, that seems to have worked well enough so far, but I wondered why they wouldn't branch out more.
