Posting a humorous example of a similarly close minded mentality filtered through the lens of "correct" d&d play that instead makes both subjects look like fools.

Imho, i don't really find OP bigoted, so much as fed up with all RL stuff and looking for a game to escape it for a few hours. At least, that's my most charitable read of it. It's just that his wording reads bad.

And i get that. We play games to have fun and escape from mundane reality and constant digital noise we are bombarded, to unwind and relax. Leasure time is called that for a reason.

When it comes to online gaming with strangers, i think good rule of thumb is to treat them same way one would treat coworker in big multinational. From personal experience, there are 3 broad topics to avoid - religion, politics and deep personal stuff. Probably best way to do it is:
-Be polite and helpful by knowing your role, your character, rules and showing up on time so the group can move forward.
-Keep connections at a surface level by sticking to the shared activity or light topics to build rapport without making things awkward.
-Avoid sharing deep personal baggage so the focus remains on the game rather than using the session as a place for therapy or venting about irl problems.

I can draw comparison to my futsal crew. I posted on company internal message board add for people interested in playing futsal once a week. In essence, there are 10 of us, of whom i work in same department with 2 others and other 7 are all people i might have seen in passing (i work in very large company). We meet once a week, play our 50 minutes, change, sit down for 20-30 minutes until we cool down and then we all go our separate ways. We do talk, but general, safe topics, light banter, comments on game we played. In the end, we aren't friends, we are just people who love to play futsal. I don't know anyone's political stances, for most part don't know their orientation, beliefs, nothing. Nor do i care to know. What i do know is that they know how to play football, are reliable, aren't naughty words and treat each other with respect while we hang out.

There's no such kit in that handbook.

The one that comes closest is the Ghosthunter kit, which has the following as a special benefit: "Holy Sword Availability: The Ghosthunter's deity might give the Ghosthunter an opportunity to acquire a sword +3 Purifier (see Chapter 6) at some point before he reaches 6th level. The DM determines the circumstances, as per the guidelines in Chapter 2; remember that availability does not guarantee acquisition."

The only other one that comes close is the Wyrmhunter kit, which has a special benefit where, if they're "primarily responsible for killing, banishing, or otherwise eliminating a principal foe of Wyrm or Great Wyrm level" then their deity gives them a gift, one of which could be (but isn't guaranteed to be) a magical gift, of which an example is a normal sword becoming a holy sword (which doesn't have to be a holy avenger, since Chapter 6 introduces several different kinds of holy swords).
Send me a copy to verify. It was 26+ years ago. But it was a bad build.
