I'm still working my way through reading the core books. Progress has been a little slow as I'm also getting caught up on reading a lot of things that I've picked up for other games. Even so, it has been very educational. The writing style for the GM Guide is something that -for me personally- conveys information better than some DM Guides I've had for more modern versions of D&D.

Between the OSRIC GM Guide and the "101 Dungeon Encounters" project that I supported on Backerkit, I feel confident that I could easily randomize a dungeon for nearly any game system. That may be useful for those who engage in solo play.

I see that there are some adventures on Kickstarter for OSRIC.

Hobgoblin Warlord already funded, but they are accepting late pledges for the pdf.

"Adventure against a bloodthirsty hobgoblin and his band of mutineers in this tabletop RPG module for OSRIC 3.0! Meet the fearful villagers of Morhaus, besiege the occupied fortress of the Warlord, and explore the ruins beneath its stone towers in The Hobgoblin Warlord!

In the spirit of classic fantasy modules, Hobgoblin Warlord consists of a village where players can recruit allies, gather equipment, and plan their next move, as well as upper and lower levels of a dungeon location.

The fortress that serves as the hideout of the Hobgoblin Warlord guards the secret ruins of an ancient lunar cult, where the players can discover ancient history and brand new, fantastical magical items. Suggested ways for dislodging the titular Warlord guarding its treasures are suggested at the end, to help orient DM and Player alike to successfully completing the adventure."

I backed it to see more of what an adventure in OSRIC style looks like. It sounded cool enough that $12 was easily worth it, and a I've been trying to look at various layouts for adventure writing to see how I might improve my own writing.

The other OSRIC Kickstarter currently active is The Lost Tomb of Kazcuk Mot the Undying. It is described as a "tournament module." It is fully funded, and the campaign ends in 7 days.

"Kazcuk Mot the Undying rises from the dust of ages—ancient, wrathful, and nearly impossible to destroy. Steel flashes, spells ignite the darkness, and four brave heroes stand against a terror that refuses to stay dead. Will they end the curse… or become the next guardians of his tomb?"

OK. I went in for the portrait books. I have them and they are great. However a player at yesterdays game brought in their landscape books and setting it down on the table in front of me made me a believer. I HAVE to have them now.

I should have listened.

Still I'd rather read the portrait books on the couch.

Oh, these rules are all free? Very cool.

I may pick this up just to have. I downsized my collection last year...its not looking great right now for keeping it smaller.
