Keep going.

I know you are not done, and you probably know this: You need some volume in the hair. I would like to see the hammer tighter and more realized. I feel that your "commander" is caught between dwarf and human in proportions though.

I think the soldiers in the background are a bit hard to see, some highlights on spearheads and helmets perhaps.

Grass looks great. I like the overall design, it is dramatic.

I couldn't see this at first, but Storn is right. For me, it's mainly that outstretched arm that seems to skinny. If you made it, say, 50% thicker / more muscular, I think that alone would make him seem much more dwarfish.

Great stuff, though! Love the style, and it's always nice to see the "work in progress" pics...

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Looks great. The hair is much improved, although it couldd still use a lot more shadows as well - you mainly added highlights, it seems. I would still try to do something about that skinny arm, and see if you can make those troops in the background stand out just a little more.

I am somewhat ambivalent about the obvious computer brush marks that are still visible in the final version - especially the reddish streaks in the sky: clearly an oval-shaped photoshop tool. I do like the coarseness of the background, not sure I like seeing the "machine guts" of the painting though.

(For another artist whose work I really like, and where the digital painting artefacts do *not* bother me at all, have a look at littlejohn's fantasy art, from Piratecat's story hour.)
