10 ft reach, 15 ft diagonals

I guess I'm always scratching my head in these discussions over the pro-hexers' assertion that abnormally shaped rooms are a chronic (and equal) problem on grid maps. The fact is, every D&D map I've ever seen from any source is, indeed, almost entirely composed of rectangular rooms and aligned along cardinal directions. That's even realistic -- the rooms I see in real life are rectangular, and so are most of the castles and keeps I've had a chance to visit.

It's possible that they come from a place where non-Euclidean geometry is the norm.
