The Great Vilstrak is a tougher version of the typical marl mugger. The Shadowsponge is an odd spacefaring creature that detects and consumes breathable air. Its entry also includes the mysterous Herd Clouds that often accompany them. The Thing That Should Not Exist is pure Lovecraftian, insanity-inducing horror.Rounding out the batch are six variant mimics. The Killer Mimic is a more feral version of the traditional mimic, while the Greater Mimic is larger and more intelligent. The Metal Mimic prefers to imitate metallic objects, and can give itself a false magical aura and generate light to better imitate a magic item. The Killer Metal Mimic blends two of the above variations, while the Space Mimic is a spacefaring spellcaster.
