Feats are a great addition to the game being easy to use and adding character to all the well characters. The game has a lot of feats in it already and it can be hard to see a need to get a hundred and one more feats. I have always been a fan of more options in the game, so is the type of book that is right up my alley. The PDF is another in a long line from Ronin Arts. Phil Reed has been making good quality PDFs and writing good RPG books for about a decade now. The PDF is twenty eight pages long. It is very well book marked. The book marks have the feats listed by type. So if one is looking for divine feat, the book marks have all the divine feats together. This is a very good thing!! The PDF has page borders so if it is printed it can eat some ink, but the zip file comes with a rtf version that is easy to print out and use that way without killing one’s printer. The book gives one what it promises: 101 feats. There are four divine feats, ten epic feats, four spell touched feats, three psionic feats, and the rest are all general feats. There is a nice wide variety of feats here. I doubt any one group will find use for all of them or even like all of them though. In this type of product I find it more about finding the right feat for a specific character concept. For instance there is Arcane Healing. This feat is designed for someone with arcane and divine spells. It allows one to spontaneously convert a few arcane spells to healing spells like a cleric can normally do. This type of feat is great for a Mystic Theurge. It is rare to see feats for some concepts like this. Some of the feats may seem a bit strong. Arcane toughness for instance allows a caster to lose a spell to gain temporary hit points. It is based on intelligence modifier and for a character that really strives to get a high one this feat can at times double the hit points of a caster with temporary hit points. Some of the feats are a bit weak. Extra Bardic Music Usage only grants a single extra use per day. I’ve seen other feats like this that grant four extra times per day. It really just comes down to each groups playing style and the type of thing they like. I found the feats in this collection to be a lot more creative then other feats. There are feats that are just bonuses but also feats that can offer some cool looking abilities and really help one visualize their characters doing things they used to only dream about. Crown of Rings is an Epic Feat that is like this. It allows rings to go around you like a Ioun Stone. This allows the person to gain a nice bonus on will saves for a bit. It is one of the more visual feats. This will become a book that I carry with me to let my players look through for feat options. Many of these feats will be used by monsters and NPCs as well. It just has a wide variety of feats that I think most people will easily find a few or more that they would like to use for their character. I am very happy with this purchase.
