Does everything about the character have to be from the SRD, or just the spells/powers? e.g. can you use non-SRD races, feats, classes, etc.? And are you only counting direct spell/power damage, or are you also counting melee and ranged damage (possibly augmented by spells)? As others have demonstrated, if you include melee damage, then it will far outstrip spell damage when you deal it for 14,400 rounds (24 hours). Even if you're only counting spell damage, allowing it to be spread over the entire day favors spells that deal damage over time, which often don't get to deal anywhere close to their full damage in actual combats. I'll give it a shot, though, using pure SRD and counting spell damage only. Sorcerer 10, spell slots 6/7/7/7/6/4 Relevant Feats: Extend Spell. 0th-level slots: Acid Splash, 1d3 = 2 damage. 1st-level slots: Chill Touch, 1d6 * 10 touches = 35 damage. 2nd-level slots: Flaming Sphere, 2d6 * 10 rounds = 70 damage. 3rd-level slots: Extended Flaming Sphere 2d6 * 20 rounds = 140 damage. 4th-level slots: oops... broke the contest As a 4th-level spell, you could cast Wall of Fire, which has a duration of concentration + 1 round/level. So you could just create the wall on top of the target and concentrate on it for 24 hours. If the wall is created on top of a target and that target doesn't move, I'm not sure if it contiunes to take damage as if passing through the wall, or if it just takes the normal 2d4. Either way, the damage is huge when sustained for 24 hours. If it takes damage as if passing through the wall, that's 2d6+10 * 14,400 = 244,800 damage.
