We don't have to vote on every category, do we? There are a couple of categories where I don't know any of the products.

I don't think there is a problem if you leave all the picks blank on a category.

Of course I haven't tried, but I think that's the intent.

Well I've gone and voted on the stuff I can - its fairly easy to check the art on products in a game store, but some things I had to leave blank as I haven't been able to check out all the products. The fan websites are pretty impressive in all.

You don't have to vote in every category, nor do you need to fill out each ballot (especially for the Fans' Choice for Best Publisher, which offers 40 ballots!).

A lot of the publishers offered up samples of their work or have lots more details on their web site, so it should be easy enough (well, with time) to get a sense of what they are about, but if you don't feel you know enough to make an informed decision, by all means, feel free to skip a category altogether.

Also, don't forget that with the Instant Runoff/Alternative Vote system that we're using (if you haven't read it yet, check out fusangite's excellent explanation thereof at http://www.enworld.org/ennies/fusangite.html), if you really don't want to see a product get a vote, don't rank it low- simply leave it off the ballot altogether.
