They need not be the main characters, but must play an important role in the story. Stories can be in any speculative genre: horror, fantasy, science fiction, or any sub-genre in between, and can be up to 30,000 words. Reading fee is $10. Complete submission guidelines can be found on the <a href="http://www.bardsandsages.com/2008contest" target="_blank">official contest page</a>.</p><p></p><p>I'd like to take a moment to thank this year's co-sponsors of the contest.
