I just rented this flick at the local video store and must say that I was pleasantly surprised. It started off extremely well, up until the end of the film where it became rather formulaic.

Overall though, quite strong. Any other opinions?

I thoroughly enjoyed this film, and really dug its 'Last Man On Earth/Omega Man' vibe. I didn't find it to be nearly as scary as so many of the reviews said it was, but it did get intense! I also loved the look of the film--it's very pretty, especially the rain during the climactic sequences.

Personally, I loved this movie. Especially the last half of it.
Brings to mind the Nietzsche quote,"to fight monsters one must become a monster"
To anyone who owns the dvd, watch the last alternate ending. It's like an alternate last half of the movie.

I only saw it at the theater so I only got to see one ending. Anyone care to spoil the other endings for me? I'd greatly apreciate it.

I was puzzled by this film. I didn't understand why so much of it was out of focus, for example.

I also didn't find it at all scary, which puzzled me as it seemed to be getting advertised as a horror movie, indeed as a zombie movie, which it most certainly was not. They weren't fighting zombies, they were avoiding angry people.

I liked the rats in the tunnel, but frankly didn't understand why the rats were running. What did they have to fear from the angry people? I am thinking of the right movie, right? Wasn't there a swarm of rats that came running past in advance of the angry people chasing them?

Assuming that's true, it's an example of the inconsistent logic in the film that kept distracting me. In one scene, lighting a candle indoors brings a bad guy running within seconds, and in the next scene our heroes are blithely waving flashlights around in an unconcerned sort of manner. And the notion that a bicycle courier could outfight an entire detachment of military troops I found difficult to swallow. Or that he could flee the compound and run around outside without running afoul of bad guys, where other characters had not been so lucky. As these inconsistencies kept piling up, the film lost what appeal it had for me.

Generally I thought it had very few virtues (stellar performances being among those) and a great many flaws (the slapdash story and lack of much scariness being among those).

I really enjoyed the film.

It was especially scary for someone living in London, such as myself, because London is never that quiet. The section where he wakes up and finds everything more or less silent, and crosses the bridge and finds a London Bus on it's side is deeply unsettling.

However, I do agree that the ending was pretty weak, and would be interested in knowing the details of the alternate ending.

They weren't "Angry people" exactly... They were just slightly more living than usual zombies.

As for the alternate endings... blech. Waste of my time watching them.
